What is Free Bet Blackjack?
If you know how to play regular blackjack, you’re already prepped to win with this version. It’s just like the original game but with a fun twist. With Free Bet Blackjack, you can double down and split for free.
How long has it been around?
Free Bet Blackjack was invented by Geoff Hall, who initially exploded into the gaming world with Blackjack Switch. It was first played in 2012 and has been steadily growing in popularity since.
What makes it special?
Unlike traditional blackjack, the player doesn’t have to jeopardize his or her money to split or double. It’s simple - and it makes it that much easier to win.
How can I double?
The player’s two-hand cards must total 9, 10, or 11. If you get a free double, your initial wager is matched with a free bet and an extra card. Should the dealer win, you lose your original wager. If the hand pushes, you get your wager back. If you win, you get both your original wager and winnings that equal to twice your winning wager.
How can I split?
Players can split any pairs except for cards valued at 10. When you free split, your cards are divided into one-card hands. You place your original wager on the first hand, and receive a free bet on the second. If you win, your free bet button is swapped with cash. If you lose or push, the dealer will take your free bet button.
Is there a catch?
Yes. If the dealer lands a point total of 22, all bets that the player has in action are pushes.
Who will like this game?
Free Bet Blackjack is a great fit for players who are overwhelmed with the many rules and multifaceted strategy involved with conventional blackjack. It’s also just a fun, simple variation of blackjack.
