Here’s how it works. There are three possible wagers: The Ante, Play, and Pair Plus. Both the Ante and Play wagers play against the dealer, while the Pair Plus wager plays against your own hand.
For the Ante and Play wagers, the game goes like this: After the chosen wager is placed, the dealer doles out three cards to each player. For the Ante and Play wagers, the player looks at their hand and must decide whether to fold or play. If one decides to play, they must place a Play wager equal to the original Ante wager to move forward in the round.
Next, the dealer turns over his cards, revealing them to the rest of the players. The dealer must have a hand of a high Queen or better in order for his/her hand to qualify. If the player’s hand beats that of the dealer’s, then they’re in luck and win both wagers. Should the dealer’s hand not qualify, then the player wins the ante wager. Think of it as a win/win situation!
For the Pair Plus wager, your chance of winning depends entirely upon whether your hand has a Pair or better in it. If you have a pair or higher, you will walk away a winner. If you don’t have a pair, then you lose the hand. Even if the dealer has a qualifying hand, the only thing that counts is whether you have a pair in your three-card hand.
The payout works like this:
- Straight Flush: 5-1
- Three-of-a-Kind: 4-1
- Straight: 1-1
- Straight Flush: 40-1
- Three-of-a-Kind: 30-1
- Straight: 6-1
- Flush: 3-1
- Pair: 1-1
