The 2012-13 WSOP Circuit kicked off August 9th of last year and ends with the National Championship on May 21 - 23, 2013. As the build-up to the World Series of Poker, which lasts from the end of May through mid-July, the Circuit acts as a qualifier for the Series, with some earning seats by winning tournaments, and others earning them by collecting the most points.
In this year’s WSOP Circuit, Ari Engel, Rex Clinkscales and Jonathan Taylor have found their way to the top of the overall leader board, catching the eye of the Poker community with their competitive play:
• Ari Engel: Also known as “BodogAri,” Engel has been playing Poker online and at the table consistently since he graduated from college. At the age of 29, the native Canadian has raked in millions of dollars with his brilliant Poker hands.
• Rex Clinkscales: Clinkscales has been playing Poker since 2003 and climbing the Poker ladder ever since. Now at the age of 30, he is only 2 points behind Engel in the standings, and looks to be a top contender for the Series.
• Jonathan Taylor: The 31-year-old poker player from Alabama has already qualified for the Series by winning the Horseshoe Southern Indiana Casino Championship. With a Master’s Degree in Accounting, there’s no doubt he’ll know exactly what to do with his earnings, should he keep the winning streak going.
