WHAT IS BINGO?
Bingo is a popular game of chance that is played in a large room, or bingo hall, with a bingo caller, randomizing machine (mechanical or electronic random number generator), and a large group of players. Each player plays on a bingo card: a 5x5 grid of randomized numbers, divided into columns by the letters B-I-N-G-O. When the bingo caller announces a letter and a number, players will look for the announced letter and number combination on their bingo card and fill in the box accordingly. If players do not find the matching combination, they must wait until the next combination is called. Players begin each game with a free space in the middle of their 5x5-grid bingo card. The goal of bingo is to be the first player to call out “Bingo!” when at least one row (five squares in a row) is filled-in on the bingo card horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
Bingo will be closed Thursday, 1/23/2020

1. Players have bingo cards with “Bingo” spelled-out along the top, and five rows below with random numbers.
a. Players need at least one bingo card. Players may play multiple bingo cards to increase their chances of winning.
2. The bingo caller will randomly draw balls and call out the letter-number combination on the ball, in which the players will then look for the corresponding letter-number combination on their bingo card.
a. For example, if the caller calls “B-52,” the players will then look under their “B” column for the number 52.
b. If a player finds the matching combination on their bingo card, they will mark the square, either with a marker, bingo chip, or another score-marking method.
3. The caller will continue drawing random letter-number combinations until a player calls out “Bingo!” upon filling out a complete row on their bingo card.
a. The player will read out (or submit their card to a game official) their letter-number combinations on their bingo card to the caller, who will make sure the combinations have been called and the player’s bingo card is correctly filled-in.
b. If multiple players call out “Bingo!” at the same time, winnings will be split among those players.
4. Each game starts with a clear bingo card, aside from the allotted free space in the center.
